“Time is very precious.
Spend it with good people
doing good things
and you’ll have no regrets.
Don’t waste your time and energy
comparing yourself to others or being jealous.
Nobody’s life is perfect
even though it may appear so.
Focus on the good things in your life,
not the bad.
You’ll have a happier life,
a full life."
Words of Wisdom
by Margie Sinni
The
Hope Bracelet is an endeavor by mutual friends of Margie Sinni, who was
one of the "good people doing good things". For the better part of
13 years Margie lived with breast cancer. Certainly she suffered
with the disease, but in Margie's case it is more appropriate to say she
"lived" with it. And she taught others how to live.
Always concerned more about everyone other than herself, she would
volunteer with fellow cancer patients bringing her wonderful smile and
memorable laugh to those who found little to laugh about. She
endured her illness with grace, dignity, courage and humor. She
lived to see her son survive the devastation of the Twin Towers on 9/11
and to see her daughter married, but she did not live to see her
beautiful granddaughter. Her "Words of Wisdom" are just a
sprinkling of the life lessons she left behind for her children to
embrace in her absence. The Hope Bracelet is a joint effort
to honor Margie's memory as well as the memory of all those lost to
breast cancer. It is a token of gratitude by one of Margie's
friends because her own mother is a breast cancer survivor. A
quiet statement of support and encouragement for all those suffering
with the disease today, it carries with it the "hope" that the
funds and awareness raised by the bracelet will contribute to a cure
before too many tomorrows.
